Um where do we start, London transport is terrible in London, I have lived in London all my life and can remember when the fares were at least 40p, I was shocked the other day to have a friend produce her travel card for zones 2-3 costing £6.666 for a year, that's a huge amount, I could only imagine what it costs to go in to zone 1 and 4,5,6 as a yearly total but doesn't sound to appealing, Over the past several years the government have been suggesting help improve public transport and reducing the cars on the road but in their shoddy attempt, they charge a ridiculous amount of money for any journey this does include buses, trains, tubes and trams, transport never normally on time and the £5 compo fee is just a poor cover-up, journey's are then normally packed full of miserable people(not everyone i suppose) who are bored of being overcrowded having no where to sit no room for shopping, people not moving down the bus, considering others making room, being way 2 loud, smelly too hot i could go on...,in the process of " improvements" which in fairness needs to be done, its seems they want to do it at the most inconvenient times and cause more traffic and congestion, Victoria line shut over the weekend for weeks also loads of other disruptions always going on why not hire/train more staff to work at night!... where i live currently there are roadworks going on in at least more than 5 i can think of the top of my head hot-stop congested areas around within a mile of my house and would take more more than an hour and a half to get from battersea to putney. very poor needs sorting big time.
