Bring back 'The knowledge'... London seriously needs a vetting process for taxi drivers. PLEASE. There are too many random mini cab firms with drivers who don't know the roads at all! Tourists are exploited financially because they don't know their way and Locals are frustrated because the driver gets lost/can't read their sat nav/doesn't have a CLUE!

More porches-like structures, maybe pop-up porches, covering the pavements of the most crowded streets. This would allow people to enjoy the city in the open even when it rains. It's a fairly common thing in cities like Bologna, and with the amount of rain constantly pouring over London this would probably help enjoying the city more

Car Pooling system which links a driver and people requiring a car pool networked via their smartphone or iPhone which could specify destination and pickup points in order to reduce morning congestion and carbon emissions. The driver could also get an incentive for being a trusted and safe car pool-er.
